Want to Support the Blog? Here’s How You Can Help

Every month, I help put hundreds of books and hundreds of giveaways in front of my wonderful subscribers. I love running the blog but, unfortunately, it can sometimes be difficult to keep up on. As a single mom of two, I support the family (and all the bills) through my writing – and that can leave little to no time each day to focus my efforts elsewhere.

On my Medium blog, I provide valuable content for writers and freelancers. Content that can help them earn money of their own, write better, and learn to market for themselves. Of course, I have my books, too.

I don’t get paid for the work I do on the blog. Although I do earn a little advertisement money, it’s never more than $5 a month.

Wouldn’t it be great if you could help support the blog AND earn some amazing stuff while doing it? Including the ability to enter exclusive giveaways and receive free advanced reader copies of every single book I put out?

I’ve developed a Patreon account for my efforts on the blog here, as well as to help support my efforts with my books and my Medium account. But, I wanted to give back in the process because that’s what I do.

So, here’s the deal:

I’ve developed some really cool benefits to supporting the Pen Possessed book blog (and me) through a low monthly subscription. The subscriptions start at just $5 and range up to $25.

Anyone who commits to $5 support each month will receive a special dedication in all my books, PLUS they’ll get the opportunity to place one free social link in the sidebar of my website! For those of you who run businesses or are authors yourselves, this is FREE publicity. The Pen Possessed Book Blog receives anywhere between 40 and 200 unique views each day!

If you commit to $10 support each month, you’ll get the special dedication and social link, PLUS advanced reader access to EVERY BOOK I PUBLISH! I publish between one and four books every month, so that’s a lot of free reading materials! Oh, and you’ll receive an entry into a monthly giveaway for a $20 Amazon Gift Card. This giveaway is ONLY for Patrons!

If you commit to the greatest support – at just $25 a month – you’ll receive everything in the other two tiers. You’ll also be entered in an annual drawing for $1,000 that takes place at the beginning of December! That’s the opportunity to win some serious Christmas money each year!

But, one more thing…

After committing to more than five years running this book blog, I want to do something a little extra here. So, for all you lovelies that have been following along, I’m going to run an extra giveaway when I reach 50 Patrons of any commitment level. Yes, even if it’s only 50 Patrons at $5 a month!

Once I reach that milestone, I’ll give away an eBook to every subscribed Patron, up to $2.99. No, it doesn’t have to be my book. I want to see other authors grow and succeed, too! Then, I’ll run a two-week long giveaway on the blog for two $20 Amazon gift cards. That second giveaway is open to ANYONE, including the Patrons who already received free eBooks and anyone who hasn’t yet subscribed.

So, a huge thank you to everyone who is even considering supporting my ongoing efforts here. The blog alone takes up between seven and fifteen hours of my time each week, not including any books I manage to review.

I appreciate your ongoing support, and would love it if you could share the news forward so we can reach those first 50 subscribers! Once you’ve achieved that milestone and ran the two-week giveaway, I’ll think up another awesome way to reward everyone!

Thanks!

The Secrets of Hawthorne House Blog Tour!

The Secrets of Hawthorne House
by Donald Firesmith
Genre: Teen Paranormal Mystery
Matt’s life changes forever when a family of druids moves into the
dilapidated Victorian mansion next door. The story of an unlikely
friendship, the clash of two completely different cultures, secret
magic, and a search for the lost Hawthorne treasure.
Fifteen-year-old
Matt Mitchell was having the worst summer imaginable. Matt’s misery
started when a drunk driver killed his mother. Then his father moved
him and his twin sister to the small town of Hawthorne in rural
Indiana, as far as his grieving father could take from the ocean that
Matt’s mother had loved. At the new high school, three bullies are
determined to make Matt miserable. And to top it off, Matt learns
that the recluse who lives in the ‘haunted house” next door is
none other than Old Lady Hawthorne, the town’s infamous witch and
murderer. Matt’s terrible summer is turning into an awful autumn
when something quite unexpected happens. Old Lady Hawthorne’s niece
and her three children arrive, and Matt meets Gerallt.

A geek by day, Donald Firesmith works as a system and software engineer
helping the US Government acquire large, complex software-intensive
systems. In this guise, he has authored seven technical books,
written numerous software- and system-related articles and papers,
and spoken at more conferences than he can possibly remember. He’s
also proud to have been named a Distinguished Engineer by the
Association of Computing Machinery, although his pride is tempered
somewhat by his fear that the term “distinguished” makes
him sound like a graybeard academic rather than an active engineer
whose beard is still slightly more red than gray.
By night and on weekends, his alter ego writes modern paranormal
fantasy, apocalyptic science fiction, action and adventure novels and
relaxes by handcrafting magic wands from various magical woods and
mystical gemstones. His first foray into fiction is the book Magical
Wands: A Cornucopia of Wand Lore written under the pen name Wolfrick
Ignatius Feuerschmied. He lives in Crafton, Pennsylvania with his
wife Becky, and his son Dane, and varying numbers of dogs, cats, and
birds.
