About Me

My name is Chelsea Falin, and I’m the 24 year old independent author of well over ten books. My titles include The Growing Roots Series, The Benson Family Chronicles, I Found My Heart In West Virginia, and The Southern Dictionary, amongst others. My books are available in print at Blue Eden (located in Ocean City, NJ), and everywhere print books are distributed online. In digital format, you can find them at all major distributors – including, but not limited to: Kindle, Nook, Kobo, AllRomance, and the Ibookstore. If you’d like to learn more about me, please feel free to peruse the following biographical information.

I was born at the high risk clinic at Tampa General Hospital, in Tampa, Florida, to Vikki Shelton and Darrell Falin. I was my mother’s second child, and my father’s third. My younger sister, Brandi, came into this world twenty-two months after I did. Shortly after, my parents divorced. My mother remarried in 1995, to my step-father, John. My father remarried in 2000, to my step-mother, Sharon. I spent my childhood between the small town of Dade City and the backwoods of Brooksville. Having a ‘his, hers, and theirs’ type of family, I grew up with an abundance of immediate relatives. Besides four parents, I also currently have seven sisters, three brothers, seven nephews, four nieces, five great-nieces,  and one great-nephew.

I moved a lot growing up, and have lived in numerous Florida towns – this includes, but probably isn’t limited to: Dade City, Zephyrhills, Brooksville, Weeki Wachee, San Ann, Webster, and Ridge Manor.

When I was fifteen years old, my family moved from west-central Florida to southern New Jersey. It was a big transition in my life, primarily because things were so much different from what I was accustomed to. This transition, and the lack of anyone being able to understand my heavy accent,  gave me the idea for ‘The Southern Dictionary.’ Once in New Jersey, my family once again moved a lot – it was one of those things which were steady in my childhood. We were never in one place for very long. The southern New Jersey towns we lived in include, but probably aren’t limited to: Somers Point, Port Norris, Tuckerton, West Creek, Absecon, Pleasantville, and Northfield.

At seventeen, I got into some trouble and my mother sent me to live with my cousin, in Ocala, Florida. It took me only a few months to realize that this was not the best move for me to get myself out of trouble, and I soon relocated to my father’s house, in Brooksville. During my time here, I managed to get my life mostly into order.

Shortly after my eighteenth birthday, on November 28th, 2008, I married Robert Hammond. In May of 2009, I gave birth to our daughter, Vikki Beth. After numerous difficulties, we decided to make the move back to southern New Jersey. My husband found a good job, and I began advancing my career, so we settled ourselves down to raise our daughter.

I began writing my first book (A Severing of Ties) when I was sixteen. Although the book only took about a year to complete, I decided to set it off to the side. I simply didn’t think it was good enough. When I was nineteen, I revisited the book, edited it multiple times, and finally decided to move forward with independent publishing. Since that point, I have published numerous other titles.

Besides being an independent author, I am also a freelance content writer, marketer, web designer, babysitter, and social media specialist.
