This second installment of the Heart’s of Marshall’s Bayou series wasn’t quite as great as the first, but it was still good! I found Daniel and Mae to be less likable than Isaac and Alberta, but the new couple did show the wonderful “flawed” character traits I’ve come to love so much in Sarah Storme’s writing. The story was intense and intricate, yet still provided a short read that only took me a little over a day to finish. The second installment certainly left me wanting more in the series, but there isn’t any more yet! Ugh, the agony!
The cover was kind of bland and didn’t give me an accurate depiction of what would happen in the story. This was cohesive with the first volume’s cover, which received a similar rating.
