‘The Mine’ is a thrilling, awe-inspiring read. When I first began reading the book, I’ll be honest-I had my doubts. Yet each turning of the page drew me more and more into the story, until I felt as though I were truly immersed in the dual worlds this book encompasses. John A. Heldt has written a love story to rival the notebook, in such a way that it is equally touching, sincere, and believable. Yes, the author was able to make a time travel romance perfectly believable, for his facts are one hundred percent dead on. he quite obviously took a lot of time on this endeavor, insuring his facts were infallible. I am not a big romance reader, and I found the thrill and adventure aspect lent substance to the story when I would not have normally continued on were it a normal romance. I cried, I laughed, and I got goosebumps. This is a book that I would highly recommend to anyone who likes a good adventure story, a beautiful romance, or for anyone who claims themselves to be a history enthusiast. I know that I was impressed.
